  1. 5.25" USB 2.0 HDD/CDROM Enclosure
  2. Serial-ATA to IDE Adapter

(1) 5.25" USB 2.0 HDD/CDROM Enclosure

Q: What device can it support?
Our 5.25" enclosure can support IDE hard drives, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, CD-RW, and DVD-RW.

Q: What kind of hard drive it can support?
Our enclosure can support up to UDMA/133, 7200 RPM and 250GB capacity.

Q: Does it require additional power to operate?
Yes, it is a self-powered unit, which requires power from an AC adaptor (included).

Q: What kind of OS does it support?
Our enclosure works under Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP OS.

Important tips about the installation:
Our enclosure works under Windows 98/98SE/ME/2000/XP and Server 2003. For Windows 98 & 98SE, you need to install the driver from the enclosed Driver CD under /NEC/UPD720130/WIN98 folder. For Windows ME, 2000, XP and Server 2003, you don't need any driver because Windows already provide a generic Mass Storage driver. This driver work with all USB 1.1 & USB 2.0 enclosures and pen drives.

There are two important things to take care of when installing the enclosure.

1. Make sure the devices are set to "Master" mode before connecting them to the enclosure.

2. Make sure the USB 2.0 port on the PC is working before connecting the enclosure to the port. If the USB 2.0 port is not functioning properly, the enclosure will not work.

(2) Serial-ATA to IDE Adapter .

(A) How do I connect the converter?
1) You need to connect the converter to IDE device.
2) You need to connect the power to IDE device.
3) You need to connect the 4pin power to the converter.
4) You need to connect the SATA cable to the motherboard.

(B) How does the converter work? Can I convert the IDE devices like IDE DVD-ROM, hard drive, DVD writer and CDROM?
Yes, you can convert those IDE devices to SATA controller.

(C) Can I convert the SATA hard drive to IDE on the motherboard?

NO. You can not convert the SATA device, like SATA hard drive to IDE controller on the motherboard.
